TLIF - Priorities, Living, & Celebration

It's almost as gray outside right now (1:10 pm) as it was when I got up at 5:30 this morning. It's chilly. It's rainy. It's gorgeous. The words are flowing through me as I revise this story. Not the one I should be working on, but the one I'm driven to write right now.

For more than a month now, I've been checking my email obsessively. If you're a writer, you can probably guess why. I'm looking for a note - rejection, acceptance, or even just acknowledgement - from a specific place (this is outside of the queries I have outstanding).

When I got back from lunch today, something much better was waiting for me. Yes, better than an acceptance email (okay, maybe just a different kind of better, like comparing fresh cupcakes to really good iced coffee). That's why this is about priority. It was from a friend I lost touch with and am so very happy to hear from. It made my day.

So, today is worth celebrating. I think more days should be like that. Find a reason to enjoy them, and celebrate. Even if it's just meeting your word count, or feeling inspired, or getting a load of laundry done when you'd rather be watching TV.

So, what are you celebrating today?

Nothing to celebrate yet I had a nice day and I feel positive about things so I'm with ya. It feels nice sometimes to just be happy and your post made me feel just that.

I have an award for ya over at my place if ya wanna play.

How great to find something good in your email whether it's an acceptance or a note from an old friend. We all need something positive in our days. (I'm sure not looking forward to stalking my email when I start sending out queries. :P )
