About Us

Allyson Lindt has been telling stories since before she could put the words on paper. She loves a sexy happily ever after and helping fictional couples find their futures together.

Loralie Hall is a cubicle dwelling drone who writes as other people in her spare time. Her life-long goal is to be the devil on the shoulder of the person who rules the world.

Vigor

I have two friends who own their own businesses. They're very dedicated to making these ventures work, and they balance that with full time (or more than full time) jobs. I talk to them, and when I hear how much vigor they put into these opportunities, how much time they spend on them, my jaw drops.

"I was up until 3 am..."
"I worked 100 hours last week..."

I shake my head and tell them "that can't be healthy". How has that kind of enthusiasm and vigor for something like...working?

And the reply is always along the lines of 'but the payout makes it worth it...'

And then when I'm up at 5 on a Saturday morning -- even though I didn't go to bed until 1:20 -- because Saturday mornings are my #1 best time to get some intensive and quiet writing time in, I don't question my own sanity for a moment.

But I can almost guarantee you that they're looking at me (or they would be if they knew), thinking "who puts in that kind of effort for something like...writing? She doesn't even know if she's ever going to make any money at it."

But that's what drives me. It's what motivates me and fills me with vigor and makes those three cups of coffee that much more lovely first thing. I define success a little differently than my entreprunerial (sp?) friends.

So, what fills you with the vigor and drive to succeed?

Unique

It's what we all want, right? To be unique enough to stand out from the crowd, but not to be so unique that it's unrecognizable?

What an interesting conundrum ^_^

Titles

It actually made me so antsy to wait for the letter 'T' to come up that I wrote this post a whole three days in advance. Because I need help.

Not mental help. Well, okay, that too, but I'll pay a professional for that. Or give you a candy bar. Your choice ;-)

I need help coming up with a title for my new WIP. I don't know if I'll keep the title through the whole project, but whenever I name a project something like 'New Story of the Month' I never remember three months down the line which month it was a new story for.

So I have to give it a name to make it easier to work with. I hate coming up with titles, so I thought I'd ask y'all what you thought.

Here's some basic info:

Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

Blurb: (I'm still working on this, I only just wrote it up to give a basic story idea)
Just a small girl in a big world trying to find someone to love. A painful, no-strings-attached fling taught Riley the only worthwhile guys are those willing to make a long-term commitment.

Nice guys finish last. After finding out his long-term girlfriend had been sleeping with the office-supply guy at work for over a year, Zane has sworn off serious relationships forever.

The mutual need to split the rent has landed them in the same apartment. Amid a series of one-night stands and aggressive dates with other people, and the unintentional half-clothed encounters that come from sharing a place, they realize their relationship goals couldn’t be more different. If they can’t curb their egos and reconcile conflicting notions about a ‘perfect’ romance before their lease is up, they’ll end up heart broken and miserable.

So...what do I call it? Be serious, be sarcastic, be whatever comes to mind. But as a word of advice, I've recently learned that more than 90% of the books on Amazon with 'Roommate' in the title are erotic romance...and since I can't keep up that level of tension through an entire story, that's not the feeilng I'm going for.
